Video Game Recruiting for VR Gaming?2022-12-09T00:01:34+00:00

Integrating virtual reality into the video game recruiting process is still in its infancy. However, the ability for the technology to help a candidate visualize what the day-to-day job experience would be like has the potential to become an integral part of the hiring process in the future and benefit recruiters, employers and job seekers. One of the issues currently keeping virtual reality from becoming more commonly used for recruiting is job candidates may not have access to a virtual reality headset. However, as technology becomes more affordable, VR will become more commonplace.

How Virtual Reality Will Help Job Seekers?2022-12-09T00:01:52+00:00

With advancements in artificial intelligence, combined with advancing virtual reality technology, it is not much of a stretch to anticipate that computers will perform initial job interviews in the not-too-distant future. The combination of VR and AI will also allow job seekers to simulate interviews, allowing them to practice and improve interview techniques for applying for video game jobs. This type of VR training will also prepare candidates for real-life in-person interviews so they won’t feel as intimidated when going into an office or participating in a video interview.

How Virtual Reality Will Help Employers?2022-12-09T00:01:58+00:00

Employers can use virtual reality to improve the hiring process by allowing prospective candidates to better understand the work environment. VR offers several advantages over standard video interviews by providing the interviewer with a more comprehensive look into the candidate’s overall skill set. A VR recruiting interview will better help determine a candidate’s poise, presence, presentation and practical skills and give the employer a better picture of the job seeker’s fit for their company.

How Virtual Reality Will Help Job Seekers?2022-12-09T00:02:06+00:00

Augmented reality is just beginning to be used in VR recruiting, but it will become more mainstream once recruiters realize the value it offers for screening candidates. Many companies are turning to virtual reality solutions to find new talent. Recruiters can use VR to more easily assess a candidate’s skills while improving the experience for the candidate by allowing the job seeker a look a what the work environment and experience will be like. This can be an especially valuable tool for remote video game recruiting.

I just want to thank everyone at DAM. It’s been an amazing experience working with you, and I can’t tell you how excited I am about this. You guys were able to match me up so well with opportunities that I really felt like I had an embarrassment of riches – which was, frankly, a huge boost to me with as difficult as things have been for me recently. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Robert, Senior Software Engineer

I’m only giving credit where credit is due. Sometimes I feel like there are more recruiting companies than there are companies to work for and most of them l don’t feel comfortable working with. Often it’s too obvious that they only care about moving you from A to B, no matter how bad the fit is. Working with DAM has always felt more personal and that makes all the difference. Nevertheless, I still wish the business model were more along the lines of talent agents.

Gunter, Senior Engineer
